We recently visited the STEM lab and had our first experience with Bee Bots. Bee Bots are robots that students can program to move on a grid. It develops logic and sequencing skills. As a connection to our literature unit on Goldilocks and the Three Bears, students had to retell the story by programing the bee bot to the locations on the grid that represented each part in the story. Students had to think about the order of events in the story, direction to move, and what was the most efficient way to move from one part of the story to the next. They worked in groups of 3-4 to program the bee bots. Students worked collaboratively and celebrated errors as learning opportunities to figure out how to program the bee bot to the right location.
