We have read many versions of The Little Red Hen. We have learned about story elements and have story mapped this classic story. We discussed the story elements: title, characters, setting, beginning, middle, and end of the story. As you read with your child ask your child to tell you who are the characters in the story and what happens in the beginning, middle, and end. This is laying the foundation for reading comprehension skills.
